1. We use a/an with singular countable noun:
An apple
There is an apple on the desk.
2. We use some with plural countable nouns:
Some apples
I want to buy some apples.

4. Be careful with uncountable nouns. Use verbs in singular.
Information, advice, weather, news, bread, hair, furniture, work.
It’s hard work.
I’m going to buy some bread.
