In the exam you should spend about 15 minutes on this task and write between 40 – 60 words.
Below you can see general advice for doing this writing task.
Write a paragraph for your school’s international webpage. Describe one thing that you are really good at:
- write about when you understood it,
- give your advice on how others could do it.
It is very important to remember:
- The amount of the words - do not write less than 60 words and more than 80 words.
- Keep in mind you are writing a paragraph for your school’s international webpage.
A basic paragraph structure usually consists of:
- the topic sentence;
- supporting sentences;
- a concluding sentence.
Start with introduction – with the topic sentence. And remember that the whole work has one single controlling idea that is expressed in its topic sentence, which is typically the first sentence of the paragraph. In order to write a good topic sentence, think about your theme and all points you want to mention. (You can start mentioning the thing you are good at).
Then give details, facts, examples to support the main idea of the paragraph. Write when you understood it. Then give your advice how others could do it.
The closing sentence is the last sentence in a paragraph and it restates the main idea of your paragraph. And now restate your main idea of the paragraph only using different words.
