You have seen the following note on your school’s information board.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SURVEY

Write what you imagine a day without a computer, TV and mobile phone would be like. Describe:
  • how you would feel, why;
  • how you would spend the day;
  • what you could learn from this experience.
 
  1. Before you do anything, read the question(s) carefully and find out the following:
    - what you are writing about
    - who you are writing to
  2. When you have worked out what the purpose of your letter is, you should be able to work out what kind of style you will need to use. In this case it will be informal/semi-formal writing style.
  3. Even in informal writing, there is a good range of language which can be used: conditional sentences, a range of perfect and continuous tenses, indirect questions etc.
  4. Use linking words.
  5. And make sure that your reply answers any questions that you were asked in the task and take into account any additional information that you have been told to mention.
 
Start with the introduction.
Start with some introductory phrases. Try to write the thesis sentence in which you all three points you are going to write about. The introduction should not be too long.

Give the main sentence of the paragraph and then write how you would spend the day without a computer, TV and mobile phone. Give examples, do not generalise your statements. Write short and concrete sentences.
 
Paragraph 4
Give the main sentence about the last point - what you could learn from this experience. Then write the support of this sentence. Do not generalize it, write concrete things, and mention examples.
 
Conclusion
Write some closing remarks, recommendations. Do not write more than two, three sentences there.
